What's included
This programme will introduce you to the world of civil engineering and show you the different ways that your career pathway could go! You’ll also have the chance to take part in some great quizzes and activities, and hear from industry experts along the way.
You might’ve heard about civil engineering, but how much do you know about it? It’s an area of engineering that can take you anywhere in the world, working on projects that you mightn’t have even thought about! But, where do you start? Right here! This module will give you all you need to know about civil engineering - from different areas and roles to what it takes to become a chartered civil engineer (with letters after your name)! Plus, you’ll learn about the Institution of Civil Engineers - from how it was started by the brightest engineers of the day in a coffee shop over 200 years ago to the community of 100,000 members across the globe who are shaping our world!
Our world is changing and we all need to do what we can to look after it. From recycling to avoiding single-use plastics, we’re all doing what we can to mitigate the effects of climate change. Civil engineers are critical in the battle to tackle the climate emergency, plus they’re supporting communities across the world by addressing the challenges of the United Nation’s Sustainability Goals. In this module, we’ll be looking at how civil engineers are driving sustainability through different areas and approaches, and how civil engineering could be the key to a more sustainable future. With civil engineers at the heart of sustainability, we can all look forward to a brighter future!
Civil engineering has many different ways of making a difference in the world, but it’s crucial in helping us survive. From designing innovative sea defences to playing its part in constructing state-of-the-art medical facilities, civil engineering is working behind the scenes to help us live our lives safely. In this module, we’ll explore the work of civil engineers when it comes to infrastructure - specifically, how civil engineering uses innovative methods and techniques to build everything from smart cities to structures that protect us from the effects of climate change.
Getting from A-B has never been easier, cheaper, and greener - but there’s still progress to be made, and civil engineering is playing its part! In this module, we’ll take a closer look at how civil engineering helps create seamless transport networks that bring us closer together, and how future transport links will help keep us moving and even more connected!

Once you have applied for your programme, you will receive a confirmation email. You will be notified about the outcome of your application via email at least 3 days before the programme start date. Good luck!
Yes, you can sign up to multiple programmes with us.
Most of our programmes require students to be in school/college. Some programmes require students to be based in specific regions of the UK, this is stipulated by the organisations themselves, and is not defined by Springpod.
However, the ages mentioned on our programmes are more of a guideline than a strict limit. As such, we more than welcome older students to apply as well!
You will receive a certificate on completion of your programme. It will be made available to download whenever your programme is marked as complete.
